Being a huge travel fan, when I found out we were moving to Mississippi I immediately starting researching fun places to visit. Mississippi is a great base for taking trips to many cities, attractions, and other destinations. Within 6 hours of Jackson, MS there are fun cities, historical sites, and beautiful beaches.

Here is my top 10 list of places to journey to from Mississippi:

Love this list! There really are so many things near Jackson. We’ve visited and loved Biloxi, Vicksburg, Oxford, Memphis and Gulf Shores so far. We’d love to squeeze in a visit to New Orleans or another trip to the coast this summer.

Thanks Whitney! I have enjoyed following along with all of your adventures! I somehow forgot about Oxford. That’s definitely on my list too.

Even though I’ve gotten to travel to some pretty neat places, there’s still nothing quite as relaxing as a few days at Gulf Shores. And I believe that’s called you can take the girl out of Mississippi , but you can’t take the Mississippi out of the girl:)

I agree so completely Whitney! As much as I love traveling to new places, learning about history and the culture of a place absolutely nothing beats a long weekend at the beach! Do you have a favorite beach?
