Oreo Pudding Poke Cake {Foodie Friday}

June 28, 2013

I must admit that Oreos are one of my guilty pleasures. If I ever see a pack of Oreos I make a bee line for them and eat myself sick. When I stumbled upon this recipe from The Country Cook on Pinterest, I just knew I had to try it out.

-Chocolate cake mix (you’ll also need eggs and oil for the cake)
-2 (4 oz) boxes of Jell-o Oreo Cookies ‘n Crème instant pudding (and 4 cups of milk)
-Tub of whipped topping (in the freezer section)
-Package of Oreos

1. First grease and lightly flour your baking dish. I used a glass Fire King dish, but a 9×13 pan will work fine. Mix the cake according to the directions on the box. Pour the mixture into your baking dish and bake at 350 degrees until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
2. Take the cake out of the oven then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cake, about an inch apart.

3. Next, whisk together your instant pudding mix and milk until smooth.
4. While the cake is still warm, pour the pudding mixture over the cake, aiming for the holes.

5. Place the cake in the refrigerator and let completely cool. While you are waiting, take your Oreos and place them in a large plastic bag. Using a wooden rolling pin, crush the Oreos into pieces.

6. When the cake has chilled, cover the pudding with a layer of whipped topping.

7. Last, add the pieces of Oreo on top.
