Meet the June Blogger of the Month!
The word for June is Journey and I could not have picked a more perfect word for me. I am thrilled to be the guest blogger this month and I am hoping to get to know the amazing bloggers in Mississippi a little better.
I am originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin but have lived in several different places before moving to Mississippi. I am in love with the mild winters, endlessly sunny summers, kind people, and proximity to the coast in the Magnolia state. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and worked in child care for 11 years before deciding to stay home shortly after my twins were born in 2011. They just turned four and I could not be more grateful for the time I have been able to spend with them these past few years.
Trying to stay positive and focused on things that bring joy to my life has always been a priority, but I was recently diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and this put even more emphasis for me on enjoying life. I believe wholeheartedly that we make choices every day either actively or passively about how we live our lives. I am certainly a work in progress, but I try every day to fill my life with the things that make me happy; the people that make me laugh and feel full of love, good books and movies, time outside in the sun, and opportunities to explore the world through travel.
When I think of the word Journey, I get excited about all of the trips, vacations, and adventures both big and small that are possible in our city, state, and beyond. On my blog, Bambini Travel (www.bambinitravel.com), I write about family travel, children’s books, and preschool activities. I love them all, but my favorite thing to write about is travel. There is something about planning and setting out on a new adventure that is exhilarating.
Summer is a fabulous time for going on a journey and I’m excited to share more about one of my favorite topics to kick of the season. Check back soon for southern travel ideas, tips for family travel and more.
