Meet our February Blogger of the Month

February 2, 2015

Hello to all my friends, family, animal lovers, fitness junkies, food fanatics, blogger enthusiasts!

renee profile

My name is Renee Masterson Young! Though I am a Hoosier at heart and grew up in Indianapolis for the first 18 years of my life, I moved to Starkville, MS in 2008 to run cross-country and track for Mississippi State University. I now have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a master’s degree in teaching secondary education.

In my 25 years, I have become a lover of people, mother to a cat, and wife of a to-be-pastor, a high school science teacher, and runner of too many roads. My husband Mark and I could survive on Chick-fil-a for the rest of our lives. I consume more coffee than is medically recommended. I have one tattoo of an anatomically correct heart on my back left shoulder. I prefer comfort over beauty, but when the two combine it is an epic blend of fantasticness.

I hate capital letters and tend to overuse punctuation (the MSWB gals made me do it for these posts). I try to write in such a way so that when you are reading my words, you feel as though we are sitting over a cup of Joe getting to know each other. It’s my hope that through these posts, you find a unique, and incredibly personal touch.

I pour my heart out over at mulling over my morning coffee. Here I blog (mainly) about what the Lord is teaching me in my quite times and how I can grow in my personal life. I am quite metaphorical and spontaneous with my posts. Though I have a type a personality, blogging is one place I feel that I have the freedom to lose control. Lose control with me and let’s do this thing together.

I am so excited and honored to be chosen as the “blogger of the month” for February 2015. This month’s theme will be “adore”. In the coming posts, I will attempt to stay true to my writing style while branching out in trying new things.

Hang with me here at the Mississippi Women Bloggers as we waltz through the month of adoration together.
