Fitness in Fall Challenge

November 2, 2014

Good Morning fellow Mississippi bloggers!  My name is Heather and I blog at No Bologna.  I’ve been a “no meat” eater since January and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.  I’m more than happy to answer any questions you may have, people tend to be curious about protein and what-not.  I love questions because it gives me the opportunity to share why and how I do it!  Don’t worry though, I’m not the type to shove it down your throat and judge you for choosing a different diet.  Some other basics about me real quick: I love Disney, I go fairly often.  I could eat an entire bag of Reese’s in one sitting if I had no self-control.  I got on the Harry Potter bandwagon pretty late in life and frequently have Harry Potter & Chinese nights.  Why Chinese?  1. It’s one of my favorite foods (another thing I acquired later in life) and 2. it’s a tradition I had with my old Disney College Program roommates, so sometimes I reminisce.  I live in the Central Mississippi region and I’m a tad bit obsessed with the new Whole Foods!  I’ve done 3 half-marathons (2 of which were Disney), 1 sprint-triathlon, and I just signed up for my very first Marathon (it’s been on my “bucket list” I guess you could say!)

I’m so excited to be Blogger of the Month for November to share all things Fitness in Fall!  My favorite fall workout is a beautiful morning run in the crisp fall air.  I have struggled with maintaining a healthy lifestyle since childhood.  There are days that I’d rather lay in bed watching Netflix instead of going to the gym.  There are days that I’d rather eat a bag of Reese’s (protein, right?) instead of making a healthy salad or brown rice & veggies.  I am constantly challenging myself to improve my healthy habits, but I’m sure you can relate when I say that it’s not easy.  One thing that has proven to be successful for me in the past is a 21 day challenge.  I challenge myself to workout for 21 days straight – at least 30 minutes of physical activity.  I thought this would be the perfect time to challenge each of you to the 21 day challenge.  The challenge will end the day before Thanksgiving, so you can reward all of your success with a delicious Thanksgiving meal, but extra bonus points to those of you who get in a small workout before feasting!  This challenge is not about beating yourself up if you miss a day, but it’s trying to complete as many days as you can within the 21 days.  It takes 21 days to create a habit, so my hope is that after the 21 days you’ll be motivated to stay fit through the remainder of the Holiday season and beyond.  The physical activity doesn’t have to be strenuous either, it can be as simple as a 30 minute walk every single day.  You’ll be shocked by the benefits you see from simply walking.

There’s more!  If you join me and the MSWB community for Fitness in the Fall 21 Day Challenge, send your Excel document that details the date and the length of activity (preferably 30 minutes at least) to mississippiwomenbloggers@gmail.com by November 30th to be entered in a giveaway to win a Conscious Box of your choice (Classic, Vegan, Gluten-Free).  The winner will be selected at random based on those who submit an Excel document – it’s not about who does the most physical activity.  If you participate, then you have a chance of winning!

Tweet & Instagram using #MSWBfallfitness for extra entries into the giveaway!

I’m excited to see how everyone does throughout the 21 days and I look forward to sharing my own progress.  Be on the look out for more fitness inspiration from me, Heather @ No Bologna Blog, throughout the month of November!  Good luck!
