Blog Book {Tech Tuesday}

May 28, 2013

When I first began blogging, I did it to keep in touch with my friends and family.  My husband and I were married, and I followed him four hours away from home as he began medical school.  I was hired by the city school system, and we began our new life together.  I have always been a small town girl, and I missed knowing what everyone was doing on any given day.  I also missed others knowing how I was doing.  I played with the idea for a while, not really knowing how to start or what in the world to do.  My sister-in-law lit a fire under me when she began her blogging journey.  I got the blogging fever, I guess you could say.

And my blog was born.

Since that day five years ago, my blog has turned into one of my greatest hobbies and a wonderful avenue for others to support us, pray for us, and keep up with us.  It has also become a great place for me to share our struggles and inspire others in similar situations.  My blog took a turn for the meaningful when I decided to begin sharing about our infertility.  We became Party of Two…Praying for More.  Never could I have imagined the support we would receive…or the number of couples struggling with the same thing.  My blog became my “small town.”  We struggled together, inspired each other, and shared our lives.  Since that day in 2009, we have become ‘Tis So Sweet.  A blog dedicated to trusting God with everything after we adopted our precious baby girl in July.  ‘Tis so sweet to Trust in Jesus!

My blog is a journal of our life.  Our ups.  Our downs.  Our all arounds!

DSC_5472I’ve never been much of a journaler, although I love buying pretty notebooks!  But, I found a passion for blogging…my own grown-up journal.  And I wanted to find a way to preserve these thoughts, feelings, events, struggles, and blessings.  I searched for ways to publish my blog into a book.  I’m sure there are other ways (maybe even better ways) of doing this, but I turned to Blog2Print.  It’s super easy and takes only a few minutes of time.  I publish my blog at the end of each year.  Sometimes…oftentimes…it takes two full size books to get it all in.  I guess I’m long-winded.

Blog2Print syncs with your blog and uploads the dates you choose in the order you choose.  You can even choose to leave photos as they are…or allow the program to condense your book and place them in a more efficient manner.  I always print my posts and pictures as is.  Blog2Print works with Blogger, WordPress, and Typepad.

DSC_5492If looks are important to you like they are to me, you have options on appearance.  There are several covers to choose from, and you can add your own cover photo, dedication, title, etc.  There is even a Table of Contents and the option of printing the comments too.  They also email discounts and coupons all the time.

I’ve tried one other method that took FOR-EV-ER to put together, and Blog2Print blew me away with the ease and the quality.  I now have my own little library full of my life stories.DSC_5480  How fun will it be for my daughter to be able to read through the pages and actually hear my voice and my thoughts as a young married woman?!  That is priceless.

If you have never thought about publishing your blog into a book, I encourage you to do so!  There are several blog publishing sites out there.  Find one that is right for you.

You won’t be sorry, y’all.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I’ve thought of this several times, but didn’t know it would be so easy.

Love this idea. I need to do this myself.
