It’s August. The kids are back in school.
What does this mean?
Well, for some reason, it means those of us who do most of the meal preparation in our homes have to be all organized and stuff.
First, you’ve got to figure out what to pack in their lunches.
Then you work all day (outside the home or inside), walk in the door, and hear “Mama, mama, mama, I’m hungry, mama. What’s for supper, mama? When’s it gonna be ready, mama?”
Say “mama” one. more. time.
Just kidding, kids. I love it, of course.
But give it rest for a minute.
In times like these, there’s no time in the heat of the moment to be standing around thinking up something to fix. You need a plan. The struggle is real.
And I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel, here. Please don’t think I’m about to give you a list of recipes I’ve been testing in my kitchen just for back to school lunches and dinners. Plenty of folks who are a whole lot better than this at me have already done a great job at it. Check these out!
